This Privacy Policy describes how Daily Sword ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Daily Sword mobile application ("the App").
Information We Collect
We collect the following information to provide and improve our services:
Device Identifier: We generate and store an anonymous device ID to identify your device. This is not linked to your personal identity.
Age Information: During onboarding, we collect your age to determine content access levels. Age information is stored securely on our servers to enforce age-appropriate content restrictions and is not shared with any third party.
Subscription Status: We store your subscription tier and billing information to manage access to premium features.
Chat Messages: If you use the AI-powered spiritual guidance feature (available to users aged 17 and older), your messages are stored locally on your device to provide contextual conversations.
User Preferences: We store your display mode, Bible version, font size, notification settings, and ambient sound preferences locally on your device.
How We Use Your Information
Your information is used to:
Deliver 365 daily Bible verses with curated nature backgrounds
Provide spiritual warfare tools with battle verses across 15 categories in 3 Bible translations
Provide AI-powered spiritual guidance grounded in Scripture (ages 17+ only)
Manage your subscription and access to premium features
Enforce age-appropriate content restrictions
Send push notifications for daily verse reminders (if you have opted in)
Track basic usage analytics to improve the App experience
Third-Party Services and Data Sharing
Daily Sword uses the following third-party services. Before using AI Guidance for the first time, you will be asked to review and consent to the data sharing described below:
OpenAI — powers the AI spiritual guidance feature (ages 17+ only). When you use AI Guidance, the following data is sent to OpenAI: your question text and your selected Bible version. No personal information, device identifiers, names, or email addresses are sent to OpenAI. OpenAI processes your message solely to generate a biblically grounded response. We do not use chat content for advertising or any purpose other than providing the guidance feature.
RevenueCat — manages in-app subscriptions and purchase verification. RevenueCat receives your anonymous device identifier and subscription status. No personal information is shared.
You must provide explicit consent before any data is shared with OpenAI. You may decline, in which case no data will be transmitted. These services process data in accordance with their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing their policies for more information. Users aged 13–16 do not have access to AI guidance features and no chat data is collected or transmitted for these users.
Age Requirements and Parental Consent
Daily Sword requires age verification during onboarding. Users must be at least 13 years old to use the App.
Users under 13: Not permitted to use the App.
Users aged 13–16: Access to daily verses, archive, and most spiritual warfare categories. AI Guidance, subscription options, and certain battle categories (Lust, Addiction, Grief, and Gluttony) are not available. If you are a parent or guardian of a user aged 13–16, we encourage you to review and discuss the App’s content with your child. By allowing your child to use the App, you consent to the collection of the limited data described in this policy.
Users aged 17 and older: Full access to all features including AI Guidance, all battle categories, and subscription options.
Age verification is required during onboarding and cannot be skipped.
Data Storage and Retention
Your data is stored securely using appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.
Chat conversations are stored locally on your device for contextual history. When you send a message using the AI guidance feature, the content of that message is transmitted securely to OpenAI for processing in order to generate a response. We do not store chat messages on our own servers. Subscription and usage data is retained on our servers for the duration of your active use or until you request deletion, whichever comes first.
User Consent for AI Features
Before using the AI Guidance feature for the first time, you will be presented with a clear disclosure explaining what data is sent, who receives it, and how it is used. You must explicitly agree to this data sharing before any information is transmitted to OpenAI. If you decline, no data will be shared and you will not be able to use AI Guidance. Your consent choice is stored locally on your device.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to third parties. Your information is only shared with the third-party services described above, solely for the purposes of providing AI guidance and managing subscriptions. Data is only shared after you have provided explicit consent.
Push Notifications
The App may send push notifications for daily verse reminders. Push notifications are entirely optional and can be enabled or disabled at any time through the App settings or your device settings.
Tracking and Analytics
Daily Sword collects lightweight, anonymous usage analytics to improve the App. Events such as verse views, shares, and feature usage are tracked without personally identifying information. We do not use third-party tracking services and do not track your activity across other apps or websites.
Children’s Privacy
Daily Sword requires users to be at least 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Users aged 13–16 have restricted access: AI Guidance, subscription options, and mature battle categories are not available. If you believe a child under 13 has used the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Data Deletion
You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting support@dailysword.com. Upon verified request, we will delete your associated data from our servers within 30 days.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
